State Court Administrator before those increases may be
effective certain standing committees of the General
Assembly shall approve schedules of costs for certain
courts proposed by the State Court Administrator before
those schedules may be implemented by the State Court
Administrator; providing that certain standing
committees of the General Assembly shall approve
changes in and schedules of costs in the District Court
as proposed by the Chief Judge of the District Court;
and providing that the Chief Judge of the District
Court may, in certain cases, implement schedules of
costs for the District without prior approval by
certain standing committees of the General Assembly.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings
7-102.
The State Court Administrator shall [determine the
amount] PROPOSE A SCHEDULE of fees to be charged by the
Clerk of the Court of Appeals and the Clerk of the Court of
Special Appeals[, with the approval of the Board of Public
Works]. THE PROPOSED SCHEDULES SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE
SENATE JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS COMMITTEE AND THE HOUSE
JUDICIARY COMMITTEE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AND THE
COMMITTEES SHALL APPROVE, MODIFY, OR VETO THE SCHEDULES.
AFTER APPROVAL OR MODIFICATION BY THE COMMITTEES, THE
SCHEDULES SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED BY THE STATE COURT
ADMINISTRATOR.
7-202.
(a) The State Court Administrator[,] shall

the courts of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City [ with

PRIOR APPROVAL BY JOINT RESOLUTION BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
THE PROPOSED SCHEDULES SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE SENATE
JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS COMMITTEE AND THE HOUSE JUDICIARY
COMMITTEE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AND THE COMMITTEES SHALL
APPROVE, MODIFY, OR VETO THE SCHEDULES. AFTER APPROVAL OR
