AN ACT concerning

Forest and Park Land - Leases

FOR the purpose of exempting from redemption of a tenant all
leases into which the Department of Natural Resources
enters under Title 5 of the Natural Resources Article.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

5-207.

(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a
lease into which the Department enters after July 1, 1979
for any land acquired under this [subtitle] TITLE is not
subject to redemption of the tenant, unless the lease
expressly provides otherwise.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
