AN ACT concerning

Motor Vehicles - Manufacturers and Distributors

FOR the purpose of applying the licensing requirements,
license fees, and certain rules for manufacturers and
dealers to all new motor vehicles.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Transportation

Section 15-201(b), (c), and (e), 15-202, 15-204(b),

15-205, and 15-208(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

15-201.

(b)  "Distributor" means a distributor of:

(1)  New [Class A] MOTOR vehicles [or new Class B
vehicles] constructed or assembled outside of the United
States; or

(2)  New two-stage vehicles completed outside of
the United States by a second-stage manufacturer.

(c)  "Factory branch" means a branch office of a
manufacturer from which the manufacturer:

(1)  Sells or promotes the sale to dealers in
this State of a particular brand or make of new [Class A]
MOTOR vehicles, [new Class B vehicles,] or new completed
two-stage vehicles;

(2)  Directs and supervises its representatives
in this State; or

(3)  Supervises or contacts its dealers or
prospective dealers in this State.

(e) "Manufacturer" means:

(1) A manufacturer of new [Class A] MOTOR
vehicles [or new Class B vehicles] constructed or assembled
in the United States; and
