EXECUTIVE ORDERS

[1. Revocation of Prior Executive Orders

The Executive Orders of June, 1967, establishing
the Governor's Commission on Law Enforcement and the
Administration of Justice, and of April 4, 1969, June
5, 1969, and January 15, 1971, revising and
reconstituting the Commission are hereby revoked and
rescinded.]

[2.] 1. Creation of Commission; composition;
organization

(a)   The Governor's Commission on Law
Enforcement and the Administration of Justice is
created as an independent unit within the
Executive Department.

(b)   The following persons are, ex
officio, members of the Commission, but with the
power to vote.

(1)   The Chief Judge of the Court of
Appeals of Maryland;

(2)   The Attorney General of
Maryland;

(3)   The Secretary of the Department
of Public Safety and Correctional Services;

(4)   The Deputy Secretary of the
Department of Public Safety and
Correctional Services for Correctional
Services;

(5)   The Deputy Secretary of the
Department of Public Safety and
Correctional Services for Public Safety;

(6)   The Public Defender; and

(7)   The Director of the Juvenile
Services Administration.

(c)   The Governor shall appoint other
persons as members of the Commission in
accordance with applicable Federal law and
regulations. These additional members shall be
representative of State and local Government,
agencies and organizations concerned with
criminal justice and juvenile delinquency
prevention and control and the general public.
The terms of these additional members are
co-extensive with the term of the Governor, AND
