JOINT RESOLUTIONS

representative from the Maryland Nurses Association, a
representative from the Health Services Cost Review
Commission, and an individual three individuals from the
general public; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the chairman of the commission shall be
chosen by the Governor from the general public members.

RESOLVED, That the commission shall prepare a report
and recommend legislation to the Governor and the General
Assembly
Legislative Policy Committee prior to the beginning
of the 1980 1981 legislative session; and be it further

RESOLVED, That any secretarial and support services
required by the commission shall be furnished by the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be seat to:
the Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor of Maryland; the
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the House of
Delegates; the Honorable James Clark Jr., President of the
Senate; the Honorable Dr. Charles R. Buck, Jr., Secretary of
Health and Mental Hygiene, 201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore,
Md., 21201; The Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State
of Maryland, 1211 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, Md. 21201;
The Maryland Hospital Association, 1301 York Rd., Towson,
Md. 21204; and the Health Services Cost Review Commission,
201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, Md. 21201.

A House Joint Resolution concerning

Spring Grove Hospital Center

FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor Legislative
Policy Committee to appoint a commission to study the
type of acute admissions policy at to Spring Grove
Hospital Center, as a model for the entire State mental
health system.

WHEREAS, The White, Dayhoff, and Hamilton Buildings at
Spring Grove Hospital Center are used for admissions of the
acutely mentally ill patient by region; and

WHEREAS, The regionalization theory of acute admissions
at Spring Grove Hospital Center was acutely established in
order to provide community based care for the mentally ill
patient; and
