their designees. In addition, the President of the Senate
and Speaker of the House may appoint to the Commission any
member of the General Assembly who holds a leadership
position in a national or regional legislative organization;
these members shall also serve at the pleasure of the
President of the Senate and Speaker of the House. The
appointments may be made at any time.
89.
The Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics is
established. There shall be ten members of the committee,
five to be members of the Senate of Maryland and five to be
members of the House of Delegates of Maryland, and these
members shall include ex officio, the President of the
Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates. The
appointments shall be made by the President of the Senate
and the Speaker of the House who shall also appoint [a
chairman and vice-chairman] OR TWO CO-CHAIRMAN, ONE EACH
FROM THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. IF
CO-CHAIRMEN ARE APPOINTED, ONE CO-CHAIRMAN SHALL BE
APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT, AND ONE CO-CHAIRMAN SHALL BE
APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER. The appointees shall serve at the
pleasure of the President of the Senate and the Speaker of
the House.
92.
The joint Committee of Public Funds is established.
There shall be six members of the Committee, three to be
members of the Senate of Maryland and three to be members of
the House of Delegates of Maryland. The respective
and the Speaker—of the House of Delegates, [who jointly]
EACH OF WHOM shall designate [the chairman and
vice chairman] A CO-CHAIRMAN of the Committee. The
respective appointees shall serve at the pleasure of the
President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
Delegates.

(a) A committee of the General Assembly, to be known
as the "Joint Legislative Committee on Metropolitan Mass
Transit," is created. The committee consists of ten members
of the General Assembly. Five members shall be appointed by
the President of the Senate and five members shall be
appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates, [The
chairman] ONE CO-CHAIRMAN shall bo appointed [jointly] by
the President and OWE CO CHAIRMAN SHALL BE APPOINTED BY the
Speaker. THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE
HOUSE MAY APPOINT A CHAIRMAN OR TWO CO-CHAIRMEN. IF
CO-CHAIRMEN ARE APPOINTED, ONE CO-CHAIRMAN SHALL BE
APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT, AND ONE CO-CHAIRMAN SHALL BE
APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER; AND THE CO-CHAIRMEN SHALL SERVE AT
THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER.
