Article 8 — Public Local Laws of Maryland

Section 7-13A and 7-20

Article 8 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1970 Edition and 1976 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:

Article 8 — Cecil County

7-1.

The board of county commissioners of Cecil County
shall, on or before July 1, [1972] 1978, appoint a board
which shall be known as the board of electrical examiners,
consisting of [three] FIVE persons for the purpose of
examining into the qualifications and capabilities of all
persons who are engaged IN, or desire to engage in the
business of master electrician, as defined in this chapter.
The board so appointed shall consist of [two] THREE
competent practical electricians [of] WHO HAVE BEEN DULY
LICENSED IN Cecil County[, who] AS MASTER ELECTRICIANS FOR
AT LEAST 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT AND shall
be selected from a list of [4] SIX names recommended to the
board of county commissioners by the Cecil County Electrical
Contractors Association, [and the President of a Cecil
County Fire Company] ONE BUILDING CONTRACTOR WHO SHALL BE
SELECTED FROM A LIST OF THREE NAMES RECOMMENDED TO THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BY THE CECIL COUNTY BUILDING
CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION AND ONE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR WHO
SHALL BE CONDUCTING ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS IN CECIL COUNTY
AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF A RECOGNIZED ELECTRICAL INSPECTION
AUTHORITY. ALL APPOINTED MEMBERS SHALL BE RESIDENTS FOR AT
LEAST 3 YEARS AND REGISTERED VOTERS OF CECIL COUNTY, AT THE
TIME OF THEIR APPOINTMENTS AND FOR THE DURATION OF THEIR
TERMS. If [any] A vacancy occurs for any cause during the
term of [any] A board MEMBER as herein provided for, the
board of county commissioners shall appoint [somebody]
SOMEONE TO FILL THE VACANCY. IF THE VACANCY OCCURS AMONG
THE PRACTICAL ELECTRICIANS OR IF THE BUILDING CONTRACTOR
POSITION BECOMES VACANT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
SHALL APPOINT SOMEONE from a list of [2] TWO names
recommended by [said] THE electrical contractors association
OR THE BUILDING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION, AS APPLICABLE. The
