GOVERNMENT;
(VI)(VIII) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE MARYLAND
GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ONE FROM THE SENATE AND ONE FROM THE
HOUSE OF DELEGATES; AND
(VII)(IX) TEN MEMBERS FROM THE GENERAL
PUBLIC. THE MEMBERS SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
(A) CONSUMER ORGANIZATION - ONE
MEMBER HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS - FIVE MEMBERS
(B) LEGAL PROFESSION - ONE
MEMBER
(C) PUBLIC RELATIONS FIELD - ONE
MEMBER
(D) PRIVATE AGENCIES - THREE
MEMBERS ONE MEMBER
(E) HANDICAPPED PERSON - ONE
MEMBER
(F) PARENT OF HANDICAPPED PERSON
ONE MEMBER
(G) DEAF PERSON - ONE MEMBER
(H) BLIND PERSON - ONE MEMBER
(E) ORGANIZATION FOR PARENTS OF
HANDICAPPED CHILDREN - ONE MEMBER
(2) OF THE 21 MEMBER INITIALLY APPOINTED TO
THE COUNCIL, THE FIRST SEVEN APPOINTEES SHALL SERVE FOR
ONE YEAR; THE SECOND SEVEN APPOINTEES, THREE OF WHOM
SHALL BE FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THE REMAINING FOUR
MEMBERS SHALL BE THE APPOINTEES FROM SUBPARAGRAPH
160(A)(1)(IV), (V), AND (VI), SHALL SERVE FOR TWO YEARS;
AND THE THIRD SEVEN APPOINTEES, ALL OF WHOM SHALL BE
APPOINTEES FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC, SHALL SERVE FOR THREE
YEARS. SUCCEEDING APPOINTMENTS SHALL BE FOR THREE YEARS.
A MEMBER MAY NOT SERVE FOR MORE THAN SIX YEARS. (2) OF
THE 19 MEMBERS INITIALLY APPOINTED TO THE COUNCIL, THE
APPOINTEES FROM SUBPARAGRAPH 160(A)(1)(I), (II), (III),
(IV) AND (V) SHALL SERVE FOR ONE YEAR; THE APPOINTEES
FROM SUBPARAGRAPH 160(A)(1)(VI), (VII), (VIII), AND THREE
APPOINTEES FROM 160(A)(1)(IX) SHALL SERVE FOR TWO YEARS;
AND THE REMAINING SIX APPOINTEES, ALL OF WHOM SHALL BE
APPOINTEES FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC, SHALL SERVE FOR THREE
YEARS, SUCCEEDING APPOINTMENTS SHALL BE FOR THREE YEARS.
A MEMBER MAY NOT SERVE FOR MORE THAN SIX YEARS.
(B) THE FUNCTIONS OF THE STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL
FOR THE COORDINATION OF SERVICES TO THE HANDICAPPED ARE:
