AN ACT concerning
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
FOR the purpose of providing for the creation of the
office of State's Attorneys' Coordinator; providing
for the appointment, qualification, salary, duties,
powers, and removal of the State's Attorneys'
Coordinator; providing for the creation of the
State's Attorneys' Coordination Council and for its
composition, terms, powers and procedures; and
relating generally to the coordination of the State
prosecution function.
BY adding to
Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact
Section 41A through 41D, inclusive, to be under the
new subtitle "State's Attorneys'
Coordinator"

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Sections 41A through 41D, inclusive,
to be under the new subtitle "State's Attorneys'
Coordinator" be and they are hereby added to Article 10 —
Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) to read as follows:

STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATOR
41A. STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATOR OFFICE CREATED;
QUALIFICATION; APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL; SALARY.
(A) THE OFFICE OF STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATOR
IS CREATED AS AN INDEPENDENT UNIT IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH
OF STATE GOVERNMENT. THE STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATOR
SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATION
COUNCIL AND SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF COUNCIL. THE
LOCATION OF THE OFFICE OF STATE'S ATTORNEYS' COORDINATOR
SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE STATE'S ATTORNEYS'
COORDINATION COUNCIL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL
OF LAW.
(B) A PERSON IS ELIGIBLE TO BE STATE'S ATTORNEYS'
COORDINATOR IF, AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT, THE PERSON IS
