SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions or this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary or expense account of the persons
specified by this Act in office on the effective date of
this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or expense account of the persons specified by
this Act shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

CHAPTER 538
(House Bill 1271)
AN ACT concerning
District Court — Jurisdiction
FOR the purpose of clarifying, ratifying, confirming, and
providing that the District Court has jurisdiction
in certain actions relating to forfeiture or return
of moneys seized in connection with gambling and
controlled dangerous substances offenses; and making
this Act applicable to certain proceedings.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 4-401 (7) be and it is hereby
added to Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976
Supplement) to read as follows:
