MARVIN MANDEL, Governor
Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, Article 33 - Election Code Section 2-8 Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) Preamble WHEREAS, In paragraph (3) of subsection (a) in §2—3
of Article 33, as amended by Chapter 127, Acts of 1976,
"than" has been omitted following "less". Near the beginning of the second sentence in
subsection (a) of §3-24 in Article 33, as amended by
Chapter 44, Acts of 1976, the comma following "shall"
should be eliminated. In the second sentence in §8—3 of Article 33, as
amended by Chapter 699, Acts of 1976, the comma following
"apply" should be deleted. Apparently the fifth sentence in subsection (a) of
§26-13, Article 33, as amended by Chapter 582, Acts of
1976, was intended to be two sentences. Therefore, a
period is being inserted immediately following the word
"paid" and the word "upon" is being capitalized. At the end of the second sentence in §27-4 of
Article 33, as amended by Chapter 390, Acts of 1976, the
word "Elections" should be "Election Laws". Chapter 729 of the Acts of 1974 enacted the Fair
Campaign Financing Act which was codified in Article 33,
subtitle 31. In the chart which follows section 31-3(a)
".05 cents" should be "0.5". Section 2-8 of Article 33 appears in Replacement
Volume 33 (1976) as it does in Chapter 392, Acts of 1967,
that is, with the subsections combined into one paragraph
instead of appearing as four separate paragraphs. In
Chapter 174, Acts of 1976, the former provisions of
subsection (b) are designated as paragraph (1) and a
paragraph (2) is added. These paragraphs are set up as
two paragraphs. As a result, when present subsection (b)
is substituted for former subsection (b), the remaining
subsections, (c) and (d), will, necessarily, be
paragraphed. There was no way to indicate this in the
1976 Supplement, since only subsection (b) is set out
therein; now, therefore, SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 2-3(a)(3), 3-24 (a), 8-3,
26-13(a), 27-4, and 31-3(a) of Article 33 - Election
