AN ACT concerning
Caroline County — County Roads Engineer
FOR the purpose of removing in Caroline County the fixed
term of the County Roads Engineer and having him
serve at the pleasure of the County Roads Board; and
clarifying language.

Article 6 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1965 Edition, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 456 of the Public Local Laws of
Caroline County being Article 6 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1965 Edition, as amended) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 6
456.
The County Roads Board shall within [sixty (60) ] 60
days after the effective date of the taking over of the
construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the
County Roads in Caroline County, appoint some competent
person as County Roads Engineer with the qualifications
set out in Article 89B, Section [173] 222 of the
ANNOTATED Code [of Public General Laws of Maryland (1951
Edition)]. [The first term of office of said County
Roads Engineer shall run till June 30, 1959, and
succeeding terms thereafter shall run four (4) years
accounting from the end of the previous term. He shall
be subject to dismissal by the County Roads Board during
his term for proper cause] THE PERSON WHO IS APPOINTED
COUNTY ROADS ENGINEER SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE
COUNTY ROADS BOARD. He shall be under and subject to the
authority of the County Roads Board and shall have charge
of making surface plats, profiles and specifications for
the grading, drainage, maintenance, repair and
reconstruction of the public roads, bridges, drains,
water courses, public landings, culverts, ferries,
