House Bill No. 2167 — Immunity of Local Officials

AN ACT concerning

Local Officials — Immunity from Action

FOR the purpose of extending the immunity of certain
local officials with respect to words spoken at
certain meetings.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
2187.

This bill extends immunity to certain local
officials for words spoken at certain meetings.

Senate Bill 1043, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 4, 1976, accomplishes
the same purpose.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 2187.
