VETOES

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill
399.

This bill establishes procedures and guidelines for
limiting the admissibility of the victim's prior sexual
history in criminal trials for rape.

House Bill 715, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 17, 1976, accomplishes
the same purpose. Therefore it is unnecessary for me to
sign Senate Bill 399.

Sincerely,
Marvin Mandel
Governor

Senate Bill No. 492 - Garrett County Sunday Sales

May 17, 1976.
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
