JOINT RESOLUTIONS

No. 27

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Governor of Maryland is requested to appoint before
July 1, 1976 a task force to study the functions of the
Board of Public Works; and be it further

RESOLVED, That this task force shall be composed of
nine members, three to represent the executive branch of
the government, to be appointed by the Governor; two to
represent the public—at—large, to be appointed by the
Governor; two to be appointed by the President of the
Senate; and two to be appointed by the Speaker of the
House of Delegates. The chairman of the task force shall
be designated by the Governor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task     force shall report its

findings and recommendations     to the Governor and the

General Assembly no later than   January 1, 1977; and be it

further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be
forwarded to the Governor of Maryland.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Investigation of Blue Cross

FOR the purpose of requesting the Attorney General's
Office and the Insurance Commissioner to
[[investigate]] carry out a certain study of Blue
Cross of Maryland.

WHEREAS, Blue Cross of Maryland prides itself on its
ability to serve the needs of the people; and

WHEREAS, It is [[repoted]] reported that Blue Cross
of Maryland may raise the rates of its subscribers; and

[[WHEREAS, Blue Cross of Maryland has sponsored
legislation before the General Assembly concerning the
authority of the Health Services Cost Review Commission
in setting rates applicable to the industry: and]]

WHEREAS, The Senate of Maryland in these
inflationary times is deeply concerned about possible
increased costs for health insurance; and

WHEREAS, [[An investigation]] A study is needed to
determine the facts so that this Body may take
appropriate action; now, therefore, be it
