NATIONAL STANDARDS.

[(7)] (4) Pass an examination promulgated
[and] OR approved by the Board. The Board shall
determine the subject and scope of the examinations.
Written examination may be supplemented by oral
examinations as the Board determines. An applicant who
fails his examination may be reexamined at a subsequent
examination [upon payment of another licensing fee, if so
determined by the Board].

(b) [Registration] LICENSURE under special
conditions.

[ (1) The Board may waive the special
requirements for applicants who present proof of current
licensure in a state which has standards equivalent to
those of this State.]

[(2) ] (1) The Board may waive [the special]
ALL requirements EXCEPT THOSE RELATING TO PAYMENT OF THE
FEE FOR LICENSURE AND TO GOOD MORAL CHARACTER for
applicants who hold the certificate of clinical
competence in audiology or speech pathology of the
American Speech and Hearing Association.

C (3)] (2) The board may waive [the special]
ALL requirements EXCEPT THOSE RELATING TO PAYMENT OF THE
FEE FOR LICENSURE AND TO GOOD MORAL CHARACTER for
applicants who are actively engaged in the practice of
audiology or speech pathology in the State of Maryland as
of July 1, 1972[, and whom the Board determines to be
qualified].

794.

(a)    An applicant for [registration] LICENSURE who
is notified by the Board that he has fulfilled the
requirements of § 793 shall appear at a time and place
and before persons the Board designates, to be examined
by written and/or practical tests, in order to determine
that he is qualified to practice audiology or speech
pathology.

(b)    The Board shall [give at least two] SANCTION
DURING EACH YEAR APPROPRIATE examinations of the type
prescribed in [paragraph (1)] SUBSECTION (A) of this
section [in each year, and additional examinations as the
volume of applications makes appropriate].

[(c) Every person engaged in the practice of
audiology or speech pathology on the effective date of

this subtitle shall be licensed and given a license     by

the Board without examination, if the requirements   for

registration under special conditions are met and if      the

person pays the fee specified for the license to   the
Board.]
