54) hundred and Thirty five Perches Then South Twenty degrees West fifty perches Then South Seventeen degrees West one hundred and Sixty eight perches then by a Straight Line to the Beginning Containing and laid out for Two hundred and Sixty ^one^ acres of Land with the appurtenances thereto belonging To have and to hold the said Lotts peices or parcels of Land with their Rights members and appurtenances to the said Joseph Baxter his heirs and assigns to the only Proper use and Behoof of the said Joseph Baxter his heirs and assigns forever and to or for no Other use intent or purpose whatsoever Warranted and defended to him the Said Joseph Baxter and his heirs agreeable to ^all or^ any act or acts of assembly in Such Case made and Provided In Witness whereof The parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably Set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and Year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered Clement Hollyday (seal) in the Presence of (words (and Sixty Nath Ramsey (seal) Seven being interlined first) A C Hanson On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed viz.t ^Maryland Sc.t^ On the 12.th day of June 1783 Came before me the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court Clement Hollyday and Nathaniel Ramsey and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their act and Deed and the lotts pieces or Parcels of Land within Mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within mentioned Joseph Baxter his heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and the act of Assembly in Such Case made and Provided A C Hanson Recorded the 12.th day of June 1783 Ex.d & dld Know all Men by these Presents that We Thomas Wharton and Isaac Wharton of the City of Philadelphia Merchants Have and by these presents Do nominate constitute and appoint Richard Sprigg of Anne Arundel County in State of Maryland Esquire our true and lawful Attorney for Us and in our Names to ask Demand Sue for and by all lawful ways and Means to recover and receive of and from all persons whatsoever dwelling in the said State of Maryland all such Debts Dues and Demands as are or shall become due to us the said Thomas Wharton and Isaac Wharton or to either of us by any ways or means whatsoever and especially of and from Stephen Steward Thomas Dorsey Samuel Chase John Dorsey and Steward Junior or any or either of them and upon receipt thereof Acquittances Releases and Discharges for us and in our Names to make and to enter and acknowledge satisfaction upon any Judgment or Judgments which shall or may be obtained in the names of the said Thomas Wharton and Isaac Wharton or either of them And Generally for Us and in our Names to do and transact all other Acts (Matters) |
