52 The said Philemon Griffiths right of the Said Land called the Sugar tree camps lying and being in the County aforesaid beginning at the Centre of Two bounded White oaks standing on a hill side on the East side of said hill about six perches West of Old Town Creek about half a mile below Deavon Clareys and running thence South eighteen degrees east Sixty six perches South forty degrees east ninety eight perches South Forty six degrees west Eight perches West thirty four perches North fifty three degrees West fourteen perches North eighty five degrees West Ten perches North Sixty four degrees west ten perches West twenty four perches South fifty three degrees West forty perches South Fourteen perches South thirty nine degrees West fourteen perches South twenty two degrees East Fifty eight Perches South Eighty one and an half degrees east sixty perches North seven degrees East twenty four Perches North Fifty degrees east ten perches North eighty degrees east thirty perches North seventy five degrees East sixty six perches South two degrees west ten perches South eighty eight degrees east Thirty two perches North Thirty five degrees east forty six perches North twenty four degrees West forty four perches North Thirty six degrees West ninety two perches North Seventeen degrees West forty four perches North thirty six degrees West ninety two perches North Seventeen degrees East thirty two perches North Thirty three degrees East eighty perches North sixty degrees west one hundred and twenty four Perches South eighty one degrees West Seventy four perches South Thirty one and a half degrees West one hundred perches then with a Straight Line to the beginning containing three hundred and ten acres of Land To have and to hold the Said Land and premises to him the said John Courts Jones his heirs and assigns forever In witness whereof the said Philemon Griffith hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first above written Philemon Griffith (seal) Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of (The words "and release" and the words "right to the Said Land" being first Interlined) A C Hanson On the Back of the aforegoing deed was thus Endorsed (viz.t) Received the 28.th day of March Seventeen hundred and eighty three the Sum of Fifty Pounds Sterling being the Consideration within Mentioned Philemon Griffith Witness A C Hanson Maryland On the 28.th day of March 1783 Came Philemon Griffith before me one of the Judges of the General Court and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises therein Mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named John Courts Jones his heirs and assigns forever according to the True Intent and meaning of the within deed and the act of assembly in such Case made and provided A C Hanson 6½ Sides Recorded 24.th May 1783 |
