480) To the aforegoing Power of Attorney as annexed the following certificate and Deposition to wit To all to whom these presents shall come I Richard Clarke Esquire Lord Mayor of the City of London Do hereby Certifie that on the Day of the Date hereof personally came and appeared before me Thomas Scatchard the Deponent named in the Affidavit hereunto annexed being a person well known and Worthy of Good Credit and by solemn Oaths which the said Deponent then took before ^me^ upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God did solemnly and sincerely declare testifie and depose to be true the several matters and things mentioned and contained in the said annexed affidavit In Faith and Testimony whereof I the said Lord Mayor have caused the Seal of the Office of Mayorality (seal) of the said City of London to be hereunto put and affixed and the Paper Writing or Deed Poll mentioned and referred to in and by the said Affidavit to be hereunto also annexed Dated in London the sixth Day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Beach London Thomas Scatchard of Watling Street London Gentleman Maketh Oath and saith that he this Deponent together with Thomas Harvey his Clerk was present and did see James Wellington for himself and partners Samuel Brandram for himself and Partners Robert Dimsdale for himself and Partners James Wellington as attorney for John Cookson and Joseph Fawcett John Cookson for himself and Lewis Lambert for himself severally sign and seal and as their respective Act and Deed deliver the paper writing a Deed poll purporting to be a Letter or power of attorney hereunto annexed bearing Date the sixth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five to and for the uses therein mentioned and saith that the names and Words "James Wellington for self & C.o Sam.l Brandram for self & C.o Rob.t Dimsdale for self & C.o James Wellington Attorney for Cookson & Fawcett John Cookson Lewis Lambert" set or subscribed thereto as the partys executing the same are of the proper Hands writing of them the said James Wellington Samuel Brandram Robert Dimsdale John Cookson and Lewis Lambert respectively And this Deponent further saith that the names "Tho.s Scatchard" and "Tho.s Hervey" to the said Deed Poll set and subscribed as the Witnesses attesting the due execution thereof are of the several and respective proper Hands writing of the said Thomas Hervey and this Deponent Sworn the sixth day of September 1785 Before me Tho.s Scatchard R Clark 13½ sides Mayor Recorded this 14.th Day of January 1786 |
