464) Prince Georges County Sc.t September 23.rd 1785 Then came John Graham and Robert Baden the two Subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they were present when the within John Baden and Thomas Baden Signed sealed and Delivered the within Bond and at their request signed the same as Witnesses thereto David Craufurd Recorded this 21.st day of December 1785 Know all Men by these presents that we Zachariah Wade Richard Stone Street & Charles Fendley of Prince Georges County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just Quantity of Forty thousand Pounds of Tobacco to which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators the whole and for the whole Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this fifth day of October Anno Domini 1785 The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Zachariah Wade shall and will diligently and carefully view and examine all Tobacco brought to any Public Warehouse or Warehouses which he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco he shall be called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is not in his Judgment sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hogshead of Tobacco prohibited by an act of assembly entitled an act for the regulation of the Staple of Tobacco and that he will receive pass and Stamp all Tobacco that is sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his duty in the office of an Inspector according to the best of his skill and Judgment and according to the directions of the said act without fear favour affection mallace or partiality and that he will in all things well and faithfully execute and perform the several Duties required of him by this act then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain and be in full force power and Virtue in Law Signed Sealed and Zach.a Wade (seal) Delivered in the presence of Sam.l Hepburn Rich.d Stonestreet (seal) Hugh Lyon Charles Fendley (seal) On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus written Viz.t Prince Georges County October the 5.th 1785 Then came Samuel Hepburn and Hugh Lyon and made oath that they were present all the time when Zachariah Wade Richard Stonestreet and Charles Fendley signed sealed and acknowledged the within Bond and at their request subscribed their names as Witness thereto Robert Darnall Recorded December the 21.st 1785 |
