459 or assigns In Witness whereof the said Philip Hammond Hopkins hath hereunto set and affixed his hand and seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Philip Hammond Hopkins (seal) A C Hanson On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (to wit) State of Maryland ss.t Received the day and year first within written of and from the within Named Rachel Snowden the sum of Five Shillings Sterling being the Consideration Money within Mentioned to be paid to me by her I say rec.d by me Witness Philip H Hopkins A C Hanson State of Maryland Ss.t On the 29.th day of November one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five personally appeared before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court the within named Philip Hammond Hopkins and acknowledged the within Instrument to be his Act and Deed and the Land and premises thereing Mentioned to be the right and estate of the within named Rachel Snowden her heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the within written Instrument A C Hanson 11 sides Recorded this 29.th day of November 1785 Ex.d & dd This Indenture made the twenty ninth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty five Between Philip Hammond Hopkins of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland of the one part and Margaret Hopkins of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Philip Hammond Hopkins for and in consideration of the sum of Five shillings Sterling Money to him in hand paid by the said Margaret Hopkins upon or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefrom doth acquit exonerate and discharge the said Margaret Hopkins her heirs and assigns forever Hath given granted aliened Bargained Sold enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents Doth give grant aliene bargain sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto ^her^ the said Margaret Hopkins her heirs and assigns forever All that part of a Tract of Land called Trouble enough Indeed lying and being in Montgomery County and Beginning at the end of the twenty second course of a Tract of Land called Hope Improved and running thence North seventy Degrees East Ninety five perches then South twenty two Degrees East eleven perches then North fifty six degrees East one hundred and forty perches then South sixty Degrees East one hundred and seventeen perches then South twenty two Degrees East one hundred and thirty six perches then South four Degrees West fifty six perches then North sixty eight degrees East forty four perches then North four Degrees East seventy two perches then North twenty two Degrees West fifty two (perches) |
