455) Ex.d & dl.d This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five Between Thomas Cockey Deye of Baltimore County in the State of Maryland Gentleman of the one part and John Hall of Ann Arundel County in the State aforesaid Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Cockey Deye for and in consideration of the sum of Two thousand pounds Current Money to him in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof the said Thomas Cockey Deye doth hereby acknowledge and confess and the said John Hall from every part and parcel thereof doth acquit and discharge Hath given granted Bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm to the said John Hall his heirs and assigns forever the several Tracts and parcels of Land following that is to say a certain Tract or parcel of Land called Taylors Hall containing by estimation one thousand and odd acres of Land More or Less one other Tract or parcel of Land called Thomas and John Cockeys Meadows containing by estimation Six hundred acres more or Less one other Tract or parcel of Land called Wasons Farm containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less all which said three several Tracts of Land are situate lying and being in Baltimore County aforesaid near the Falls of Gunpowder River and also one other tract of Land lying and being in Baltimore County aforesaid called by the name of Langden containing seven hundred and fifty acres more or less together with all and singular the Improvements appurtenances and Advantages to the said hereby granted four several Tracts and parcels of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the said Four several tracts and parcels of Land hereditaments and premises hereby granted with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said John Hall his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Hall his heirs and assigns forever and to no other use intent and purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the parties abovesaid have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of Tho.s Cockey Deye (seal) Jn.o Callahan Tho.s D Merrick On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (to wit) Received the day and year within mentioned of and from the within named John Hall the sum of Five thousand pounds Current Money being the consideration in the within Deed Mentioned Witness Tho.s D Merrick Jn.o Callahan Tho.s Cockey Deye £5000 Maryland On the 25.th day of November 1785 Came before me one of the Judges of the General Court Thomas Cockey Deye and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the several Tracts and parcels of Land therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within Named John Hall his heirs and assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning thereof 5½ sides A C Hanson Recorded this 28.th of November 1785 |
