431) Maryland fs.t Know all Men by these presents that we Philip Grayble Tho Jones and David McMechen of Baltimore County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full sum and just Quantity of Two hundred thousand pounds of good sound Merchantable leaf Tobacco and cask to be paid to the said State of Maryland to the which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally for the whole and in the whole firmly by these presents sealled with our seals and dated this twelfth day of October Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Philip Grayble do well and truly serve the State of Maryland in the Office of High Sheriff of the County of Baltimore within the State aforesaid and in all things well and faithfully execute the same office and also shall render to the said State and its Officers a true faithful and perfect account of all and singular he said States rights and dues and its officers a true and Just account of their fees that he shall or may be intrusted with by the State and its officers within the said State to receive and collect and his accounts to the said State for the time being for the fines and forfeitures and other dues being to the said State as also his account of all fees dues and sums of money or Tobacco Due to any of the good people within this state for any sum or sums of money or Tobacco wherewith the said Sheriff shall be intrusted during the time of his Sherievalty for this present year or to such of them as shall require the same shall pass and render by the tenth day of May next ensuing the date hereof and in all things as Sheriff of the County of Baltimore shall behave himself well and honestly towards all persons according to the best of his power skill and knowledge then this obligation to be void and of no Effect or else to stand in full force strength and virtue Signed Sealed & Delivered in Presence of Philip Graybill (seal) Henry Robinson Edm.d Hogan Tho.s Jones (seal) On the back of the aforegoing ^Bond^ was thus endorsed to wit David McMechen (seal) The aforegoing Bond taken & approved of by the Court this Twelfth day of October Seventeen hundred and Eighty five & ordered to be Transmitted to the Clerk of the General Court Test 4¼ sides William Gibson Clk B Cot.y Recorded Oct.r the 18.th 1785 Ex.d & Del.d Maryland Ss.t This Indenture made this second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five Between William Brown of the City of Annapolis Joiner of the one part and Mary McCulloch Charles Stewart and James McCullock Executors of the last will and Testament of James Dick late (of) |
