408 Grant and Agree to and with the said Thomas Usher his Heirs and Assigns that he the said Thomas Dorsey and his Heirs and all persons claiming under him or them shall and will at all times hereafter upon every reasonable request and at the Charge of the said Thomas Usher his Heirs or Assigns make do acknowledge and execute or procure to be made done acknowledged and executed all and every such Conveyance Act Deed or Assurance in the Law whatsoever for the better and more effectual granting Conveying and Assuring the said hereby granted and Conveyed Premises with the Appurtenances unto him the said Thomas Usher his Heirs and Assigns for Ever to his and their own use as shall by the said Thomas Usher his Heirs or Assigns or his or their Concil in the Law be advised or required In Witness whereof the said Thomas Dorsey hath to these presents Set his Hand and Seal the day and year first above Written Thomas Dorsey (Seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of John Burgess Elisha Warfield At the foot and on the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written viz.t Received on the Day and year first within written of and from the within Named Thomas Usher the Sum of three thousand six hundred Pounds in full of the Consideration Money within expressed to be by him to be paid as witness my Hand Witness Thomas Dorsey John Burgess Elisha Warfield Ann Arundel County to wit On the twenty seventh day of May 1785 came before us the Subscribers two of the Justices assigned to keep the Peace in and for the said County the within Named Thomas Dorsey who acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the Land & premises thereby granted and Conveyed to be the Estate of the within Named Thomas Usher according to the true intent and meaning of the said Instrument At the saim time appeared Elizabeth Dorsey wife of the within Thomas Dorsey and acknowledged that she freely Relinquished her right of Dower to the Lands within mechend And that it was out of the presence of hur Husband and that she made it freely and Volentarily and that it was without being induced by fear or threats from her Husband or for fear of his Displeasure John Burgess Elisha Warfield Ann Arundel County fst I hereby certify that John Burgess & Elisha Warfield Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgment was made was at the time of making the same and still are Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and as such due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Court of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed the (Seal) Seal of office this 22.nd day of July in the year Seventeen hundred & Eighty five 7½ sides Nich.s Harwood Clk A A Coty Recorded 23.d of July 1785 |
