38 Maryland fs.t On the 20.th day of November 1783 Came the within named Clement Hollyday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall before the Subscriber One of the Judges of the General Court and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises to be the right Title and Estate of the within named James Tootell his heirs and Assigns forever According to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided Recorded 3.d day of May 1783 A C Hanson Ex.d This Indenture made this Twentieth day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two between Clement Hollyday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall Commissioners appointed to preserve Confiscated British Property of the One part and Joseph Douson of Ann Arundel County Merch.t of the Other part Whereas the aforesaid Commissioners by an act entitled and Act for the Sale of Certain Confiscated British Property pledged for the Redemption Certificates And an Act Entitled an act to postpone the Sale of Certain Confiscated British property for the Redemption of Certificates were Directed to lay of Monococy Manor in Frederick County in Convenient Lots and the Same to Sell at Public Sale and the Said Commissioners did by virtue and in pursuance of the said Act and in Conformity to the directions thereof Sell the Same on the Tenth day of September last past at which Said Sale the Aforesaid Joseph Douson became the Purchasers of Lotts Number Twenty one and Seventy One parts of Said Manor he being the highest Bidder therefor at and for the Sum of Right hundred pounds Current Money for Lot number Twenty one and the Sum of one hundred and Five Pounds for Lott Number Seventy one Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the aforesaid Clement Hollyday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall for & In Consideration of the afd Sums of Money amounting to the Sum of Nine hundred and Five Pounds which the Said Joseph Dowson has paid to Thomas Harwood Esquire Treasurer of the Western Shore Have granted Bargained Sold Aliened released and Confirmed And by these Presents do grant Bargain Sell Alien release and Confirm unto the Aforesaid Joseph Dowson the Aforesaid Lott of Ground Number Twenty one beginning at a Bounded White Oak Tree Standing near the end of the fourth Line of Crims Lot Number Twelve it being the Original Beginning ^Tree^ and Running thence South Eighty three degrees and an half degree East Twenty One Perches to the end of the first Line of Kellers Lott Number Twenty Then North Twenty Six and an half degrees East Two hundred and ^forty^ Five Perches |
