376) Effectually Conveying and Assuring the said four hundred Acres of Land above mentioned unto the said Charles Carroll of Carrolton his Heirs and Assigns as by him or them or his or their Council in the Law shall be advised or required In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and D Carroll (Seal) delivered in presence of R Ridgely At the Foot and on the back of the foregoing Deed It was thus Written viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within Named Charles Carroll of Carrolton the Sum of five Shillings Current Money of Maryland in full of the Consideration Money within expressed to be by him paid Witness to me D Carroll R Ridgely Baltimore County to wit On the twenty third day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five Came before us the Subscribers two of the Justices assigned to keep the Peace in and for the said County the within Named Daniel Carroll who acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed for the purposes thereof Abm V.n Bibber Tho Russell Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that Abraham V.n Bibber and Thomas Russell Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgment was made and who have thereto Subscribed their Names were at the day of the date thereof and still are two of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them given as such due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Court of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto Set my Hands and Seal of my office this Ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five 11½ Sides William Gibson Clk Balto Coty (Seal) Recorded this 25.th day of May 1785 Ex.d & Dld This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between William Sewell of Calvert County in the State of Maryland of the one part and James M.cCullogh of Baltimore County in same State Merchant of the other part Whereas the said William Sewell is desirous of making Provision for his Wife Anna Maria Sewell and hath agreed to assign to the said James M.cCullough the property herein after mentioned In Trust for the said Anna Maria as hereafter limited Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said William Sewell in Consideration of the above recited premises and also for the Sum of five |
