                            Know all men by these presents that we John Beall George Fraser
       Hawkins and Rezin Beall of Prince Georges County in the State aforesaid are holden
       and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just Quantity of two hundred
       Thousand Pounds of good sound merchantable leaf Tobacco in Casks to be paid to the said
       State of Maryland To the which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves
       and every of us our and every of our heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally
       for the whole and in the whole firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and Dated
       the Twenty fifth Day of March in the year Seventeen hundred and Eighty four
       The Condition of the above Obligation is such That if the above bounden John Beall
       do well and truly Serve the State of Maryland in the Office of High Sheriff of the County of
       Prince Georges within the State aforesaid and in all things well and faithfully execute the
       same Office and also shall under to the said State of Maryland and the Officers thereof a true
       faithfull and perfect account of all and singular the states rights and dues and to the Officers
       a true and Just account of their Fees that he shall or may be intrusted by the said State of
       Maryland and the Officers thereof within the said State to receive and Collect and his account
       to the said State of Maryland for the Fines and forfeitures and other dues belonging to the
       Said State as also his account of all Fees Dues and Sums of money or Tobacco due to
       any of the good people within this State for any Sum or Sums of money or Tobacco wherewith
       the Said Sheriff shall be entrusted during the time of his Shrievalty or to such of them
       as shall require the same shall pass and render according to Law and in all other things as
       Sheriff of the County of Prince Georges shall behave himself well and honestly towards all
       persons according according to the best of his power skill and knowledge Then this Obligation
       to be Void and of none effect else to remain in full force and Virtue in Law

          On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus written (Viz.t)

          Prince Georges County March 25.th 1784 came within named Hugh Lyon and Sam.l Hebburn
       Evidences to the within Bond and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they
4 sides   saw the within mentioned John Beall Sheriff George Fraser Hawkins & Rezin Beall Sign
       Seal and Deliver the within Instrument of writing for the use therein mentioned

          To all to whom these presents shall come I John Hammond of Ann Arundel County
       Send Greeting Whereas my Fellow James commonly called and known by the name of James
       Taylor has behaved with strict Honesty and Fidelity in my Family and has evinced a perfect
       regard and Attachment to my person and Interest and merited by his services rendered and
       engaged still ^to^ be performed the Indulgent Favours at my Hands which I am now going to
       bestow on him   Now Know Ye that for the above good Considerations and others of equal
       weight me hereunto moving I have fully and freely manumitted and set at Liberty the s.d James
       Taylor and do hereby for myself my Ex.rs and Adm.rs acquit release and discharge the s.d James
       from all Authority Claim of Ownership and masterly Power hereafter to be had or exercised
       over him by myself or any others deriving Influence by from or under me And I do hereby
