183 to these presents have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Cha Wallace (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of A C Hanson Sam Galloway On the back of the aforegoing Deed were the following Endorsements to wit Maryland On the 18.th day of February 1784 Charles Wallace appeared before the subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and deed A C Hanson Maryland And on the day following Came Catherine the wife of the said Charles Wallace and being by me privately examined out of the hearing of her husband acknowledged that she relinquished her right of dower to the land mentioned in the within deed and that she did it freely and willingly and without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill usage by her husband or fear of his displeasure Acknowledged before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court A C Hanson 4 sides Recorded 21.st February 1784 Ex.d & dl.d This Indenture made this eighteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Between Charles Wallace of the City of Annapolis Merchant of the one part and Joshua Frazier of the City aforesaid Gentleman of the other part Whereas the said Charles Wallace did by two deeds indented and inrolled the one bearing date the twenty fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy and the other dated on the fifth day of October in the same year for and in Consideration of the rents covenants and agreements therein reserved and mentioned demise grant and to farm let unto William Currie of the City aforesaid Gentleman the following tracts or parcels of Land with the appurtenances situate lying and being in the City of Annapolis aforesaid and butted and bounded as follows The first beginning at the beginning part of Cornelius Garrettsons Lott on Cornhill Street and running down said Street thirty five feet then at right angles till it intersects East Street then up East Street to Cornelius Garrettsons Lott then with said Lott to the beginning The second beginning at the lower part of a Lott formerly leased to William Currie then running down Cornhill Street Sixty four feet to the upper corner of Thomas Hewitts Lott then with the said Thomas Hewitts Lott to Francis Street then with said Street to the lower corner of said Curries Lott and then with said Lott to the beginning To have and to hold the said pieces or parcels of Ground unto the said William Currie his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during and until the full end and term of Ninety nine years then next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended with power to the said William Currie to renew the said Lease from ninety nine years to ninety nine years for ever for and upon the like rents covenants and agreements as were therein reserved and contained and also to purchase the fee Simple Inheritance and reversion of and in the said demised premises for and in the Considerations and Conditions therein expressed And the aforesaid Joshua Frazer being desirous of purchasing the Fee Simple Inheritance and reversion of the said Lotts Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Charles Wallace for and in consideration of the Sum of five shillings Sterling money to him in hand paid by the said Joshua Frazier the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted |
