561 his Heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said John Cartwright and William Walter have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of John Cartwright (LS) Jeremiah Jordan W.m Walter (LS) John Shanks Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received August the 9.th 1773 of Justinian Jordan the Sum of five Shillings Sterling it being the Consideration within mentioned John Cartwright Witness W.m Walter 5 sides Jeremiah Jordan On the ninth Day of August 1773 came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of of the Peace for Saint Marys County John Cartwright and William Walter and Acknowledged the within Deed to be their act and and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Justinian Jordan his Heirs and Assigns for ever Jeremiah Jordan Recorded the 28.th Sept.r 1773 x.d This Indenture made this ninth Day of August in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy three Between Napler Mills and John Eden of Saint Marys County and Province of Maryland Executors of the Testament and last will of James Mill late of the said County deceased of the one Part and Justinian Jordan of the said County and Province of the other Part whereas a certain John Reeves of Saint Mary's County aforesaid did by Deed bearing Date the twenty fifth Day of February seventeen hundred fifty and four Mortgage unto the aforesaid James Mills a certain Tract or Parcel or Parcel of Land lying in Saint Marys County aforesaid and being part of a Tract of Land called Baskford Manor beginning at John Gees Southerly marked Hickory bounded with nine Notches from thence by a Line drawn South to a marked Tree a little above the bound Tree of Edward Turner from thence down the Swap untill it comes to O Daniels Point from thence to a marked White Oak that stands a Brown Berry by a Pound Side the Bound Tree betwixt Rowland White and Daniel O Daniel from thence with a Line drawn to the first Bounded Hickory of John Gees as aforesaid containing one hundred Acres more more or less which Mortgage was made as a Security for the Payment of fourteen thousand one hundred and seventy nine Pounds of Crop Tobacco and Twenty six Pounds one Shilling and ten Pence half Penny Current Money and the legal Interest thereon now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Napler Mills and John Eden for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred and forty three Pounds six Shillings & one Penny Current Money to them in hand paid by the said Justinian Jordan it being in full for the above mentioned Tobacco money & Interest thereon as settled by Mess.rs James Jordan and Thomas Bond the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged have released and and confirmed and by these Presents do release and confirm unto the said Justinian Jordan all the above mentioned Tract or Parcel of Land to him the said Justinian Jordan his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper Use and behoof of him the said Justinian Jordan his Heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said Napler Mills and John Eden have hereunto set their Hands and (Seals) |
