521) in the same by from or under them or any of them In Witness whereof the Parties first above Named hath hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and affixed Their Seals the Day and Year first above written Signed Sealed & Delivered In presence of William Jacob (seal) Rob.t Key John Tims Mary Jacob (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed viz.t Received this twenty Eight Day of May 1773 of M.r James Barnes The Sum of Five hundred pounds Current Money it being the Consideration within Mentioned Witness I say recd p me Rob.t Key William Jacob John Tims On the 28.th Day of May 1773 Came before us the Subscribers two of the Proprietarys Justices of the peace for Ann.l County Court William Jacob party to the within Deed and acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and tenements therein specified to be the Right and Estate of James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the purport True intent and meaning Thereof At the same time Camy Mary The wife of the said William Jacob also partie to the within Deed and acknowledged the within Lands and premisses to be the Right and Estate of the within named James Barnes His Heirs and Assigns for ever and that she did also hereby renounce all her Right of Dower to the within mentioned Lands and premisses and that she made these acknowledgments free and voluntarily without being Induced thereto by any threats or the fear of her Husbands Displeasure Acknowledged before R Ghiselin 6½ sides W.m Steuart Recorded the 3.d June 1773 X.d This Indenture made this twenty Eight Day of May One thousand seven Hundred and seventy three Between James Barnes of the City of Annapolis and province of Maryland Gentleman of the one part and William Jacob of the same City and Province Sadler of the other part Witnesseth That the said James Barnes for and in consideration of the Sum of Five hundred Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid By the said William Jacob at or before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof the receipt whereof he Doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid Hath given granted bargain'd and sold and by these presents Doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said William Jacob His Heirs and Assigns for ever all That Tract of Land lying in Baltimore County and known By the Name of Cook^'^s Adventure Resurveyed Containing Agreeable the Metes and Bounds thereof Express'd in the Patent Granted out of his Lordships Land Office to Renaldo Monk One hundred and Twenty five Acres of Land more or less Also all that undivided moiety or half part of a Tract of Land called Monks discovery Containing by Patent twenty Acres of Land more or less Together with an undivided half |
