450 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within named Daniel Mildred and John Roberts the Sum of Four Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Sterling Money it being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by them paid to us We say received by us Witness Dan.l Hughes Jn.o Smith Sam.l Hughes On the 27.th day of March 1773 Came Daniel Hughes and Sam.l Hughes before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships justices for Baltimore County and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their respective Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises therein mentioned with the appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Daniel Mildred and John Roberts their Heirs and Assigns for ever and at the same time Came personally before us Rebecca Hughes wife to the aforesaid Daniel Hughes and being privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge that she freely and voluntarily relinquished her Right of Dower to the Furnace Forge Lands and Tenements within Mentioned to be granted bargained and sold or intended so to be without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill usage from her said Husband or through fear of his displeasure according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Baltimore County to wit To all whome this may W.m Buchanan Concern I hereby Certify that Messieurs William Buchanan and John Smith Gentlemen before whome Jn.o Smith the above Acknowledgements of Daniel Hughes and Rebecca his wife and Samuel Hughes were made & who have thereto subscribed their Names were on the day of the ^Date^ thereof and Still are two of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of Maryland his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid duly Authorized and Sworn and to all Certificates Given by them as such due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Judicature as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed seal the Public Seal of the County aforesaid the twenty ninth day of March Seventeen hundred and Seventy three A Lawson Clk Balt.r Cot.y Court Recorded the 8.th of April 1773 14 Sides X.d This Indenture made this fifteenth day of April in the Year of One thousand Seven hundred and seventy three between John Lucas and Ann Lucas his wife of Saint Marys County of one part and Thomas Stone of Charles County Attorney at Law of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Lucas and Ann Lucas for and in Consideration of five Shillings Current Money to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Stone the Receipt whereof they Do hereby acknowledge Have Granted Bargained sold aliened released Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents Do and each of them Doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien release Enfeoff and confirm unto the said Thomas Stone his Heirs and Assigns for ever all those following Tracts or Parcells of Land lying and being in Saint Marys County that is to say all that Tract of Land called De le Brooke Mannor lying and being in the same County containing two Thousand Acres of Land more or less Also ^all^ that Tract |
