300 Maryland fs.t Be it remembered that the within named Sarah Potts William Potts Sarah Eleanor Potts Benjamin Mackall and Rebecca his Wife came before me Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer one of the right honourable the Lord Proprietarys Provincial Magistrates for the Province of Maryland and acknowledged the within Deed to be their Act and the Lands and Premisses with their Appurtenances thereby bargained and sold to be the Estate of the within named Michael Arthur his Heirs and Assigns for ever And the said Rebecca Wife to the said Benjamin Mackall being by me examined privately out of the Hearing of her Husband declared that she made that she made the above Acknowledgment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by Forces or Threats of ill Usage, by her Husband, or Fear of his Displeasure Taken and certified (according to the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided) by me this thirteenth Day of December in the Year seventeen hundred and seventy one Dan.l of S Tho.s Jenifer Maryland to Wit His Excellency Robert Eden Esq.r Lieutenant General and chief Govenor in and over the Province aforesaid To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting I do hereby certify that Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Gent.n before whom the above Acknowledgment of the within Deed was made is one of the Right honourable the Lord Proprietary's provincial Judges for the Province aforesaid and that full Faith and Credit is and ought to be given to all Things by him so certified In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and caused the Seal of the Province to be affixed at Annapolis this sixteen^th^ Day of January in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy two The great Seal Rob.t Eden in Was appendant Recorded the 16.th Day of January 1772 x.d This Indenture made the twenty sixth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Between Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis Esquire of the one Part and 6½ sides Edward Dorsey Son of John of Elk ridge in Anne Arundel County of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll for and in Consideration of the Sum of three hundred and twenty one Pounds two Shillings and nine Pence sterling to him in Hand paid by the said Edward Dorsey at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof the said Charles Carroll doth hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and discharge the said Edward Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns by these Presents Hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, and confirmed, and by these Presents Doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Edward Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract or Parcel of Land lying in Frederick County called the Resurvey on small Beginning granted unto the said Charles Carroll by Patent bearing Date on or about the twenty ninth Day of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy one and which said Tract of Land contains by Estimation the Quantity of one thousand and fifty one Acres of Land as by Reference of the said Patent remaining amongst the Records of the Land Office (will) |
