284 and Meaning thereof & at the same Time came Rebecca Littlefield the wife of the said William Littlefield & after being by us privately examined out of the Hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge her Right of Dower to the within mentioned Land & Premises to be the Right Title & Estate of the said Richard Wootton his Heirs & Assigns for ever & declared that she made the said Acknowledgement willingly & freely & without being induced thereto by Threats of or ill Usuage from her said Husband or through Fear of his Displeasure Taken & acknowledged before us Charles Jones Andrew Heugh 1771 November 11 Then received of Richard Wootton the Sum of five hundred Pounds Current Money being the Consideration money mentioned in the foregoing Deed Witness my Hand William Littlefield Witness Andrew Heugh Alex.r Offutt Then received of Richard Wootton the Sum of seventeen Shillings & three Pence Sterling for Use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from Dan.l S Tho.s Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & Receiver General J Brice Recorded the 7th Day of December 1771 10½ sides x.d This Indenture made this seventh Day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & seventy one Between James Dick of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Merchant of the one Part & John Buchanan of the City of London in Great Britain Merchant of the other Part Whereas by a certain Indenture bearing Date on or about the twenty eighth Day of August in the Year seventeen hundred & seventy one & made or mentioned to be made between the said John Buchanan of the one Part & the afd James Dick of the other Part writing that Whereas by a certain Indenture of Lease & Release bearing Date respectively on or about the first & second Days of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty four the said Indenture of Lease being made between James Wardrop late of the said Province of Maryland by the Name & Addition of James Wardrop of the Province of Maryland in America Merchant but at present Resident in the City of London in the Kingdom (of) |
