(619) in Cecil County aforesaid at the Head of Chesepeak Bay on the Mouth of a Creek known by the name of Back Creek Containing four hundred Acres be it more or less together with all and Singular the Dwelling Houses out Houses Barnes Stables Orchards Gardens Hereditaments Improvements and Appurtenances to the same belonging or in any Wise Appertaining the property of the said Henry Baker also one Moiety of a Mill lying and being Cecil County aforesaid situate on the east side of main Branch of North East River on part of a tract of Land Called stoney Chase the Property of the said Henry Baker also one House and Lot lying and being in Charles Town in Cecil County aforesaid known and Distinguished on the Map of said Town by the Number eighty two together with all the premises thereunto belonging the Property of the said Henry Baker Also one Negro Man called Jack one Negro Man called Lincoln One Negro man called Jem and one Negro woman called Hannah one Negro Woman called Nancy and one Negro Girl Called Rose which said Several and respective Negroes were the Property of the said Henry Baker Also one Negro Man called Jack one Negro Boy Called Emanuel one Negro woman Called Johannah and one Negro Woman Called Dinah which said four Several and Respective Negroes were the Property of the said Nathan Baker To have and to hold all and singular the aforesaid Premises with their and Each of their Appurtenances and the said Several Negroes Respectively called Jack Lincoln Jem Hannah Nancy Rose Jack Emanuel Johana and Dinah unto the said Charles Carroll his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever under a Proviso and Condition Nevertheless that if the said Henry Baker and Nathan Baker their and each of their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns should well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Charles Carroll his ^Heirs^ Executors Administrators or Assigns the full Sum of three hundred pounds Sterling Money of Great Brittain as aforesaid at or before the first Day of April which should be in the year of our Lord Christ Seventeen hundred and sixty with legal interest thereon from the Day of the Date thereof that then & from thence forth the said Indenture and every thing therein Contained should cease determine and be void And the said Henry Baker and Nathan ^Baker^ did enter into sundry Covenants with the said Charles Carroll As by the said Indenture will more at ^large^ Appear And whereas there is a Balance due on the said Mortgage amounting to the sum of Three hundred and twenty two pounds Seventeen Shillings and Six pence sterling Money of great Britain to the said Charles Carroll Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll for and in Consideration of the sum of Three hundred and twenty two Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Six pence Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Edward Mitchell the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and therefrom doth Acquit the said Edward Mitchel his heirs Executors Administrators (and) |
