(376) said Cornelius Thompson for and in Consideration of the sum of Three hundred and fifty pounds Current Money of Maryland in Hand paid the Receipt whereof the said Cornelius Thompson doth hereby Acknowledge and Acquit the said John Hawkins his heirs and Executors and by these presents hath given granted Bargained sold and Conveyed unto the said John Hawkins his Heirs and Assigns forever all that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Calld Thompsons Cold Spring devis'd to him by his Father John Thompson Begining at a Bounded Black Oak standing on the west side of a small Branch that runeth into Potowmack River and runing thence west twenty two Degrees Southerly one hundred and twenty perches South twenty two Degrees Easterly one hundred and fifty perches South East one hundred and three perches then East forty Degrees and a half Northly one hundred and twenty perches thence with a streight line to the first beginning Tree Containing One hundred and Ninety Acres of Land more or less And also part of one other Tract or parcel of Land called Thompsons Hop Yard lying in the County aforesaid on Potowmack River Begining at a Bounded White Oak standing on the River of Potowmack above the second Fall of the said River running thence South seventeen Degrees Easterly forty eight perches then South and by west thirty perches South twenty four Degrees westerly one hundred perches then west nine perches then North seventy two Degrees westerly fifty two perches to the end of ninety nine perches on the eleventh line of said Land then with the said line North twenty five Degrees Easterly seventy one perches then to the Begining Tree Containing Thirty eight Acres of Land Also a small Island reckoned above the Upper Falls opposite to a Tract of Land called Thompsons Hopyard Begining at a bounded Black walnut standing on the Southermost point of the said Land runing thence North ten Degrees Westerly sixteen perches then North twenty one Degrees Westerly twenty six perches then North fourteen Degrees Easterly thirty six perches then South fifty Degrees Easterly thirty two perches then South thirty five Degrees Easterly sixteen perches then South nine Degrees Westerly twenty perches then North fifty seven Degrees Westerly sixteen perches then South five Degrees Westerly seventy four perches then to the Begining Tree Containing twelve Acres of Land together with all and singular the Rights priviledges profits and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise Appertaining To have and to hold the said Tracts or parcels of Land and premisses hereby intended to be bargained and sold as aforesaid unto him the said John Hawkins his heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Hawkins (his) |
