(187) On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t Received the Day of the within written Indenture of the within named John Hall the sum of Eight hundred and Sixty pounds five Shillings Sterling Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid by him to wit Ja Tilghman 3.d By me John Harrison Henry Hall Ann Arundel County fs.t Be it Remembered that the within named Henry Hall came before me one of his Lordship's the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Provincial Court and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and the Lands and Premisses with the Appurtenances thereby Bargained and Sold to be the Estate of the within named John Hall his heirs and assigns for ever Taken and certified the 3.d Day of April Anno Domini 1767 21 Sides Bye Recorded the 3.d April 1767 Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Examined To all Christian people to whom these presents Shall come &c I Thomas Lingan of Calvert County in the Province of Maryland Gent ^send^ Greeting Know ye that I the said Thomas Lingan as well for and in Consideration of the Natural Love and Affection as also the fatherly care and tenderness I have and bear to the future benefit and Advantage of my beloved Children Thomas, Martha, Ann, and Elizabeth Lingan, as otherwise for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moveing have given and granted and by these presents do give grant and confirm unto my said Children (That is to Say) To Thomas Lingan Jun.r two parcels or tracts of land Situate, Lying and being in Calvert County afores.d the one call'd and Known by the name of Batchelors Quarters, the other called and commonly Known by the Name of Lingans Adventure which fors.d tracts of Land contain by estimation One thousand three Hundred and fifty acres of Land more of less: Together with all manner of houses out houses ways waters watercourses woods Timber and Timber trees with all profits comdities and Advantages unto the said two tracts or parcels of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining as also Negroes Cooper Hercules aged about twenty two years young Dick aged about Seventeen Sam aged nine months To him the said Thomas and heirer for ever Also to my Daughter Martha two negroes the one called old house Hercules aged about twenty five years the other called Little Mall aged about fifteen years with issue of them to her the said Martha and her heirs for ever as also one Sett of Silver Casters To my Daughter Ann two negroes the one called Old Cesar (aged) |
