455 Divers other good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath Given granted Bargained sold released and confirmed and Doth by these psents for himself & his heirs Give ^grant^ Bargained sell Aliene Enfeoffe & Confirme unto him the s.d Rich.d Galloway his heirs & assignes for ever all that peace or pcell of Land being part of Watkins's Inheritance & Lying on the south eastward of the Eastermost line of the Land called Ewen upon Ewenton and in a Fork betwixt two cones or branches that make into west river to y.e southward of the southermost whereof stands y.e first Begining tree of the s.d Land called Ewen upon Ewenton being bounded by the s.d Coves or Branches on the northward & southward & by the s.d Line of Ewen upon Ewenton on the westward supposed to containe about four a be the same more or Less To have & To hold unto hm the s.d Richard Gallaway his heirs and assignes for ever the aforemenconed to be Granted Land and pmisses w.th the appurtcy to the only proper use & behoof of the s.d Rich.d his heirs & assignes for ever & to noe other use intent or purpose w.tsoever & y.e s.d Jn.o Watkins for himself & his heirs doth hereby covenant pmise grant & agree to & w.th y.e said Rich.d his heirs & assignes y.t he y.e s.d Jn.o & his heirs y.e aforemenconed to be Granted Land & pmisses w.th y.e appurtences unto him y.e s.d Richard his heirs & assignes for ever from & against him the s.d Jn.o & from & ag.t all other psons claiming or to claime by from or under him the s.d Jn.o or his heirs will well & Truely warr.t & for ever hereafter defend In testimony when if the partyes to these psents have interchangable sett their hand & affixed their seales the day and year above Written Sealed & Delivered in presence of Jn.o Watkins (seal) James Carroll Th Bordley On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Then Came the within named John Watkins & Mary his wife And the s.d John acknowledges the within Instrum.t as his Act & Deed According to Act of Assembly And also y.e s.d Mary being privately examined out of y.e hearing of her s.d husband acknowledges her free consent to y.e w.thin sale of conveyance And that she is no way moved or induced thereto by any threats or coercion of her said husband or for fear of his displeasure Acknowledged this 4.th day of Dec.r Anno Dm 1717 before me being one of his Ldps Justices of y.e prov.l Court of Maryland James Stoddert |
