       Maryland March y.e 29.th 1703   Exchange for 15.ℓ

       S.r  Att Twenty days sight of this my third bill of Exchange my
       first and second of the same tenor and date not payd pay or
       Cause to be paid unto Col.o John Hammond or his order fifteen
       pounds ster Value here recd and place to account of y.r humble
       servant W.m Bates
          To M.r Thomas Clark Mrchant in London


                   On the back of a Deed recorded in this book fol 786
                   it is thus Written

       Know all men by these p.rsents that wee Thomas Williams &
       Elizabeth his wife within named Do hereby authorize Constitute
       & appoint Sam.l Young Esq W.m Bladen & Edwd Hancox of
       Ann Arundell County Gentl or either of them our true & lawfull
       attorny or attornys for us & in our name either in the prov.l
       or Baltemore County Court Or before two Justices of the prov.l
       or sayd County Court to appear & acknowledge the within
       mencond Deed to the said W.m Taylard according to Act of
       Assembly in that Case made & provided  And wee the said
       Thomas & Elizabeth for the Consideration within mencond
       Do by this Endorsem.t Grant & Remise to the sd W.m Taylard
       & his heires the within Land to be holden of his & their right
       against us & our heires for Ever Witness our hands & seals
       the sixteenth day of July Anno Dm 1703
