813 (793) Memorandum that upon the sixth day of August 1697 came before us S.r Thomas Lawrence Barronett and Henry Jowles Esq.r Two of theire Majestyes Honble privy Councill of this Province the within written Benjamen Wells And acknowledged the within written deed to within written Edward Boothby and James Philips theire heires and Assignes for ever Taken and Certifyed before us the Day and Year above written Aug.t 12.th 1697 Recorded Thomas Lawrence p Chr Gregory Clk Hen Jowles Maryland March 10.th 1685 Ex.ca for 32.ℓ 10.s 04.d sterl Att Ten days sight pay this my first Bill of Ex.ca my second and third not paid unto the Right Honble Charles Lord Baltemore or Ord.r the Sum of thirty two pds Ten shill and four pence sterl the same being Imposition Money and Port dutyes of the ship Dolphin of Chester whereof is M.r Law Swarbreck To M.r Francis Sheltern M.rcht in Chester Accepted p me June 5.th 1688 p Francis Shelterne Which sd Bill was thus Indorsed Pay this to Thomas Rowland or ord.r its mine C Baltemore 25.th of 4.th M.o 88 Recd then the Contents of this Bill by me Octob 17.th 1697 [illegible] Tho Rowland Chr Gregory Clk This Indenture y.e 13.th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred Ninety & seven Between Jacob Harnis of Ann Arrundl.ll Co.ty in the Province of Maryland on the one part & Jacob Blangey of Kent Island in Talbot County of the other part wittnesseth that the s.d Jacob Harnis for & in Consideration of y.e summ of tenn Thousand pounds of Tob.o to him in hand paid by y.e s.d Jacob Blangey at & before the ensealing & delivery of these p.rsence the Receipt whereof the s.d Jacob Harnis doth hereby acknowledge & confess & thereof & every part & parcell thereof doth hereby clearly & absolutely Acquit Exonerate & discharge the s.d Jacob Blangey his heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs & every of them for ever by these p.rsence & for Divers other good Causes & Consideracons to him the s.d Jacob Harnis thereunto especially moving Hath given granted Bargaind Sold Alened Enfeoffed & Confirmed & by these presence doth fully freely & absolutely Give grant Bargain sell Alien Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the s.d Jacob Blangey his heirs & assignes for ever all that Tract or parcell of Land Called Salkeld Spring on the east side of Chesepeak Bay in Cæcill County next adjoyning to y.e Land of John Underhill Begining at the s.d Underhills Southermost bounded tree being an oake Runing south Down the Bay for Breadth one hundred pearches to a marked oake bounding on the south by a Lyne drawn east from the s.d oake for Length three hundred & Twenty perches on the east by a Lyne drawn north from the end of the East Lyne for Breadth untill it Intersect a paralell drawn from the Land of John Underhill on the North with the s.d Land paralell on the west with the s.d Bay Containing two hundred and Fifty Acres of Land more or less according to pattin granted to George Sanghier in the year of our Lord one Thousand six hundred Fifty Nine together with all & singular houses &c.a proffits Commodities hereditements & appurtenance whatsoever to the s.d Land belonging or in any wise appertaining |
