654 (644 Baltemore in the Province of Maryland aforesaid as by the said Writeing to which for more Certainty Relacon being had much more fully and at Large it doth and may appear Now I the said George Copley doe hereby order and appoint my said attorney to procure & cause the said Robert Burman in Maryland aforesaid to signe seale and deliver any such further Writeing or writeings for the Most sure and firme setling the Tract of Land aforesaid upon me the said George Copley my heires Executo.rs Administrato.rs and Assignes for ever as he my said Attorney by the Councill Learned in the Law in Maryland aforesaid according to the Custome of the Said Province shall be advised and in my name to signe seale and deliver any Counterpart of such writeing or writeings as hee shall be required for the firme setling the premisses as aforesaid and in Case the said Robert Burman shall deny to doe the same to use all such Lawfull wayes and meanes for forcing him thereto as the Law of the said Province in that Case hath Provided giveing by these presents unto my said Attorney my full and absolute Power in and about the said Premisses Ratifyeing and confirming whatsoever my said Attorney Lawfully doe or cause to be done by vertue hereof in and about the p.rmisses aforesaid In Witnes whereof i have hereunto set my hand and seale this tenth day of December Annoq.r Dom 1691 and in the third yeare of the Reigne of o.r Soveraigne Lord and Lady King William and Queene Mary over England &c Signed Sealed & Delivered George Copley (Seale) in the psence of us John Slye Pat Cresor Mackey Sam.ll Manthorpe This Indenture made the sixth day of May in the Fifth yeare of the Reigne of o.r Sovereigne Lord and Lady William and Marey By the grace of god of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queene defend.rs of the faith &c Annoq domini 1693 Betweene Edward Barrowclifts of Calvert County in the Province of Maryland Millwright of the one part and Richard Sweatnam of the County of talbutt and Province aforesaid gent of the other part Witnesseth that the said Edward Barrowclifts for and in Consideracon of the sum of Fiftie Thousand pounds of Tobacco to him in hand paid by the sd Richard Sweatnam before the ensealinge and delivery hereof the receipt whereof he the said Edward Barrowclifts doth hereby acknowledge and therefore acquitt and discharge the said Richard Sweatnam his heires Executors and Adm.rs firmely by these p.rsents hath given granted bargained sold aliened Released Enfeoffed and confirmed and by these p.rsents doth give grant bagaine sell alien releas enfeoffe and confirme unto the said Richard Sweatnam his heires & Assignes for ever Except as herein after is excepted all that remaineing part of a tract of land comonly Called and Knowne by the Name of Willton containeing Thirty Nine acres being and parcell of Willton aforesaid first laid out for Fiftie acres of Land begining att a marked white oake and runing for Length thirty Foure perches to a Travers drawne South west Eight Perches then runinge South East againe one hundred Twenty six perches to an old Oake then Southwest Fiftie perches then North west one hundred & six perches to a Marked red Oake by a Branch and from the sd red Oake North east Fiftie eight perches to the first bounded tree Eleven acres of which sd tract of Fiftie Acres of land Called Willton is by Meane Conveyance bargained and sold |
