506 (496 This writeing Indented made the Five & Twentieth Day of September Anno Domini 1688 And in the fourth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King James the second of England &c.a Betweene Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton of London Merchants of the one pt and Thomas Davis of London gent of the other part Whereas the said Edward Carleton and Dudley Carleton doe to Imploy severall persons as agents or facto.rs for them at Maryland in the pts beyond the seas And there are severall Debts due or oweing by Contracts or Agreements made by severall psons there which probably have been or may be Received & gott in by severall psons haveing Authority by or from the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton And ought to be Accompted for to them And whereas the said Thomas Davis intendeth with all speed to saile to Maryland aforesaid intending for some time to Continue there Now these Presents wittness that the Said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton reposeing much Confidence in the said Thomas Davis doe Assigne Authorize Depute & Constitute him the said Thomas Davis their true & lawfull Attorney in their or either of their names and for their uses To aske demand recover & receive of & from all and every or any pson or psons whatsoever whom it doth shall or may concerne all and every or any the Goods Debts and Estate due or oweing to them by or from any pson or psons whatsoever Resideing or being or which shall Reside or be att Maryland aforesaid And to call to Accompt any pson or psons whatsoever formerly Authorized or Appointed by them the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton to gett in debts or doe any other their affaires or business whatsoever at Maryland aforesaid And Generally to doe & pforme all or any other act matter or thing relateing to the Premisses as Effectually as the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton might or could doe if they were there present & did the same psonally ratifying & hereby Confirming All and whatsoever the said Thomas Davis shall lawfully doe or cause to be done touching the Premisses or any part thereof And the said Thomas Davis for himselfe his Executors & Administrators doth Covenant Grant & Agree to and with the Said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton their Ex.rs and Assignes That hee the said Thomas Davis his Executors & Adm.rs Shall & will not onely Render and give just true & pfect Accompts to them of all & every his receipts Payments doeings and dealeings touching the Premisses butt shall & will upon request or demand answer sattisfye and make good to the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton their Executors or Assignes All & whatsoever moneys goods Merchandizeings & other things shall from time remaine in his hands or Custody or for which the said Thomas Davis his Ex.rs or Adm.rs shall be Chargeable or answerable to them or any of them In Wittness whereof the said pties to these Presents Interchangeably have putt their Hands & Seales Dated the day & year first above written Edward Carleton (sealed Signed Sealed & Delivered Dudley Carleton (sealed in the Presence of Michaell Holmes Leonard Bates Ser Memorandum that this Day to witt the Two & Twentieth Day of Tho Gray December in the year of our Lord 1688 personally appeared before |
