354 To all People to whom these p.rsent writing shall come Elizabeth Connant relict widdow of Richard Connant of Marble Head in New England decd and only daughter and sole heir of Thomas Weston Citizen and Ironmonger of London sendeth greeting know yee that I the said Elizabeth Connant for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto at this p.rsent especially moving Have assigned ordained made authorized constituted and appoynted and by these p.rsents in my stead & place Doe assigne ordaine make authorize constitute and appoint my dear and welbeloved sonn John Connant of Marble head in New England aforesaid to be my true sufficient and lawfull Attorney Giving & by these p.rsents granting unto him my said Attorney full power and lawfull authority for me and in my name & to my use To enter into and upon Take Possession of & einoy all and singular the Plantatitions Lands Houses Tenem.ts & grounds whatsoever with the rights members hereditam.ts & Apptnces whatsoever thereunto be touching that are Cituate and lying in any part or place of Virginia or Maryland or in any other pt or place within the Dominion of his Majesty the king of England which now doe or hereafter shall or may belong or apptaine unto me as I am sole heire of my said Father or otherwise howsoever And alsoe and every pson & psons that doe or shall or may unlawfully occupy and possesse and enjoy the same or any pt thereof to repell evict and eject from theme And the p.rmises or any pt or pcell thereof for me and in my name to grant bargain sell Lett sett and Sease to such pson & psons and for such estates for^fits^ lives Inheritance or otherwise and for such sum & sums of Money as to my said Attorney shall be thought fitt and requisite to the uttermost & best Comodity and proffitt for me the said Elizabeth Connant And the deed & deeds of the same Grants and Estates soe to be made for me and in my name to seal and as my deed to deliver unto the part or ptyes to whom the same shall be soe made or to any other use or uses whatsoever and couterparts of the same for me and in my name to accept and recover & receive of all and every person & persons whatsoever All and every such Debt & debts sum & sums of money rents and arrearages and remainders of rents or other estate whatsoever which is are or hereafter shall be due owing belonging or Appertaining until me either for out of or by the above mentioned Plantations &c or by any other wayes or means whatsoever And for default of payment and deliver of the said debtors or others or their bodyes goods & chattells in Execution to take and out of Execution to deliver and what shall require and upon composition satisfaction receipts & recovery acquittances or other sufficient discharges in due form of Law to make seal and deliver And Generally in and concerning the p.rmises and the dependencies thereof to use all lawfull wayes and meanes either by due course of Law or otherwise as fully & effectully to all intents and purposes as I might or could doe if personally p.rsent with power to substitute one or more Attorneyes under him my said Attorney with like or limitted power and the same attain at pleasure to revoke Ratifieing allowing and holding firm and stable all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall Lawfully doe or cause to be done in and about the p.rmises by vertue of these p.rsents In Witnesse whereof I the said Elizabeth Connant have have hereunto sett my hand and seal the Twenty seaventh day of September Anno Dm one Thousand six hundred Eighty & four Annoq DPP Caroli secundi nunc Angliæ &c &&&& Signed sealed and Deliv.rd Eliz.a Connant apping before me this 27 of in p.rsence of us Septemb 1684 acknowledge this Lre of Attor or Elizabeth Connant (sigili) Stephen Sargent procur.a to be her act & deed S Bradstreet Govn.r Vincent Burton 29.th December 1684 I attest John Hayward Not.rus Pub.lus Came Stephen Daniel & Johnathan and tooke their oathes that they saw Stephen Daniell Elizabeth Conant signe seal & deliver the above Lre of Attorney for the uses John Allen therin mentioned Nicholas Sewall |
