325 (316 Whereas William Stevens and Samuel Cooper Deputy Comptroller and Surveyo.r of his Majestys Customes ralce Dutys and Imposicons in the County os Somersett was by the said order of the Provinciall Court of the fifth of March Anno Dm 1684/5 Ordered to take an accompt in writeing of the wages due to every pticuler Seaman in or belonging to the said ship and to report and send the same together with the Appraisement aforesaid for want of Conveniency to take it from each pticuler Seaman have onely this which we inclose as from the Master who comes herewith and therefore wee humbly Concerne it may more conveniently be done by yo.rselves this is all at p.rsent from To the Hon.ble Coll Henry Darnall Coll W.m Yo.r humble & Faithfull servants Diggs & to M.r Nehemiah Blackiston W.m Stevens (sealed) Sa Cooper (sealed) These are also further to informe that I William Stevens have taken security for whatever upon the makeing up this Accompt shall belong to his Majesty that the dispatch may not be [illegible] I thought Convenient thus to doe and give notice of the same I am Yo.r every faithfull servant Will Stevens Maryland fs To all Christian People To whom this p.rsent writeing shall Come Wee William Stevens of the County of Sumersett in the Province of Maryland Esq.r Collecto.r in these Easterne parts of the said Province and Especially appoynted since the death of Christopher Rousby Esq.r to secure his Most Sacred Majestys Impositions and Dutys in the parts aforesaid Henry Darnall (of Calvert County in the said Province of Maryland Esq.r Receiv.r Gentl to his Lopp the Right hon.ble the Lord Prop.ry and Cheife Governo.r of this Province and Nehemiah Blackiston Esq.r his Majestys Comptroller and Surveyo.r Genall within the said Province send greeting in our Lord God everlasting Whereas the said Nehemiah Blackiston his Majestys Comptroller and Surveyo.r aforesaid and Samuel Cooper Gent his Deputy who as well for our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defend.r of the Faith &c and the Right hon.ble the Right hon.ble the Lord Prop.ry Cheife Governo.r of this Province as for themselves in the behalfe prosecuted Did exhibitt before his Lopps Justices of the Provinciall Court held for the said Province at the Citty of S.t Marys the Fourth day of March last past of Certain Informacon against Nathaniel Davis Master or Comander of the good ship called the Ossery of Londonderry for that he the said Nathaniel Davis did Import of the growth production & manufacture of Europe in the said Informacon perticularly mentioned which were not really and bona fide shiped laden and taken in in England or Wales or y.e Towne of Barwick upon Tweed But were by one Robert Black Merchant shipped and laaden and by the said Nathaniel Davis taken on board the said shipp in the Kingdome of Ireland against the forme of the said statute in that case made and Provided and it hath beene soe farr proceeded in our said Court that for the transgression aforesaid the goods & Merchandizes aforesaid as also the shipp aforesaid with all her gunns tackle furniture amunicon and apparrell were by the said Court adjudged and forfeited according to the forme of the statute aforesaid viz.t One third part thereof to our said Soveraigne Lord the King Our third part thereof to the said Lord Prop.ry (Cheife |
