303) 312 The said tract of Land with the appurtinances to the said John Darrnall his heires and assignes for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of these presents as by the said John Darrnall his heires and assignes or by any of them or by any of their Councill learnd in the Law shall be Reasonbly devised or advised or Required soe as for the doeing thereof the said Robert Carvile and Johanna his wife their heires or Assignes or any of them be not compelled to travile further from their habitation then to the provinciall Court ot to the Court of Calvert County in Testimoni whereof the said Robert Carvile and Joh^a^nna his wife have hereunto sett their hands and seales the day & year first above written Robt Carvile (seal) Johanna Carvile (seal) Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Anthony Underwood James Culley Memorand October 9.th 1684 Then came Johanna Carvile of S.t Maryes County one of the partyes in this Conveyance named and acknowledged the within to be her act & deed and to be done by her voluntary will without feare or Constraint of her husband another of the parties therein mentioned before us Henry Darrnall Will Digges Recorded the 4.th day of January Annoq Dm 1684 P Tho Grunwin Clk This Indenture made the first day of February in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand six hundred Eighty and three Between William Thomas of Langfords Bay in the County of Kent Planter and Susan his wife of the one parte And Charles Edgerton of the County of Louer Norfolke in the Collony of Virginia Merchant of the other part Wittnesseth that the said William Thomas and Susan his wife for and in Consideration of the summe of Nineteen Thousand pounds of good & Merchantable tobacco in Casque to him before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents well and truely contented and paid whereof and wherewith they the said William and Susan do acknowledge and confess themselves to be fully satisfied and thereof and of Every part and parcell thereof do Clearly acquitt and discharge the said Charles Edgerton his heires Executors and Admin.rs and Every of them for Ever by these presents Hath given Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargaine and sell unto the said Charles Edgerton his heires and Assignes All that plantation and tract of Land called Pinckneys Marsh scituate Lyeing and being in S.t Michaels Hundred in S.t Maryes County Between the Land of Richard Attwood and Hugh Manning whereon y.e said William Thomas Lately dwelt Cont by Estimation Two hundred acres more or Less Together with all and singular the Houses Tennements and Appurten.ts to the same belonging or in any waies appertaining And alsoe all and singullar deeds Evidences pattents and writtings touching the same to have and to hold the said plantation and Two hundred Acres of Land with y.e appurtenances aforesaid unto the said Charles Edgerton his heires and assigness for Ever And the said William Thomas & Susan his wife for themselves their heires Ex.rs & adm.rs do Covenant and Grant to and with the said Charles Edgerton his heires & Assigness by these presents that he the said William Thomas and Susan his wife at the time of the Ensealing and delivery of these presents are and stand Lawfully & sufficiently seized of such a good perfect and absolute Indefeazable Estate of Inheretance in fee simple as that they have full pouer and good Right & Lawfull Authority to grant and Convey the same to the said Charles Edgerton his heires and Assignes and that the said plantation Land and pmises before Granted Bargaind and sold and Every part & parcell thereof are and bee and at all times |
