203 (194 To his Majesty his heires or successo.rs in any bond or bonds of or Concerning Navigacon where the Condicon or Condicons of such bond or bonds are not or shall not be duely performed According to the Teno.r thereof And to Recover and receive of all and every such person and persons All & Every such sumes & sumes of Money or other things as shall by Reason of such bond or bonds become due to his Majesty Rendering an accompt to mee the said Christopher Rousby his Majestyes Cheife Collecto.r of his Majestyes Customes & dutyes within the said Province of Maryland And I doe hereby invest my said Comission.r & Attorney with full power and authority Generally to Act and doe as Amply and Effectually as If I were personally present and did the same Ratifyeing and Allowing Whatever my said Comission.r and Attorney shall Legally doe in relation the premises or any of them And If it shall soe happen (w.ch God forbid) That my said Attorney or Commission.r before Menconed should depart this Province before I retorne into the Province then and in that Case I doe hereby authorize and appoint John Griggs of Calvert County gentl to be my Comissioner and Attorney to all intents and purposes as I have before by these presents Empowered the said Robert Ridgely and hee the said John Griggs in all the Causes Matters and things before Mentioned to act and doe as fully and Amply as If the said Robert Ridgely had Lived In Testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale The Tenth day of May in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand six hundred Eighty one Chr Rousby (sealed) Sealed & Delivered in p.rsence of us John Rousby C Boteler Underneath the above Letter of Attorney was written as followeth Henry Plat May 19.th 1687 Then appeared before me Henry Plat one of y.e Witnesses to y.e above Letter of Attorney & made oath That he did see the above named Christopher Rousby signe seale & as his Act and deed deliver the above Lett.r of Attorney as his Act & deed W.m Calvert This Indenture made y.e twentieth day of Aprill in y.e fiveteenth yeare of y.e Reigne of o.r Soveraigne Lord Charles y.e second King of great Brittani France & Ireland Defender of y.e faith &.ca between Thomas Gerard of S.t Clements Mano.r in y.e Province of Maryland Esq.r of y.e one p.t John Shankes of y.e same Province of y.e other p.t Witnesseth y.t y.e s.d Thomas Gerard for a valueable Consideracon in hand already p.d before y.e sealing & delivery of these p.rsents hath bargained & sold & by these p.rsents doth bargain & sell unto y.e s.d John Shankes one tract or pcell of Land lying scituate & being in y.e Mano.r Comonly known or Called by the name of S.t Clements Mano.r in y.e afores.d Province & now in y.e tenure or occupacon of him y.e s.d Gerard w.ch s.d pcell of Land is knowne & Called by y.e name of little Hackly & is now in y.e posession of him y.e s.d Shankes being bounded as followeth; beginning at the Westward point of little Hackly afores.d & so running down y.e Bay to a small Creeke or branch w.ch devides y.e Land now in y.e posession or occupacon of John Knapp to a little Cedar Tree & from thence to a white oake or Tree with nine Notches or markes & from thence to another white oake standing by a marsh side w.th [illegible] of S.t Patricks Creeke likewise marked with nine notches & from thence to a [illegible] nine Notches & so down y.e Creeke w.ch devides Whites Neck & little Hackly & as to y.e Westward point of little Hackly Con.t by estimacon three hundred Acres or their abouts be it more or less with free ingress) |
