98 108 Know all men by these p.rsents That I Arthur Sawier Junior of the Citty of Bristoll Shoemaker have Constituted appointed Authorized and made and by these presents doe constitute appoint authorize and make and in my place and stead depute and put my Loveing friend George Parker attorney att Law att Hunting creeke neare the Cliffs in Johnson in Maryland to be my true and lawfull attorney for me and in my name and stead and to my use to aske demand levy recover and receive not only of Edward Gibbs of great Monie on the Easterne Shore in the County of Somersett in Maryland but all other persons all such sume & sumes of mony debts goods tobaccoes wares Comodityes dues and demands whatsoever which are due oweing and belonging to me or deteyned from mee by the said Edward Gibbs or by any other person or persons whatsoever whom itt may Concerne either by bill bond booke accompt or otherwise for any matter or cause whatsoever or by any other wayes or means means whatsoever giving and hereby granting unto my said attorney full power good right and Lawfull authority in the premisses him the said Edward Gibbs and all other persons whatsoever whom it may Concerne To plaint sue arrest attach declare implead imprison cause to be condemned and out of prison to deliver Attorneyes also one or more under him to sett and substitute and the same againe to revoake And generally to doe and execute all such wayes and meanes for the recovery of the said premisses either by suite or Composition in as large and ample manner as I my selfe might personally doe the same ratifying allowing & Confirming all and whatsoever my said attorney shall Lawfully doe or cause to be done in the premises by vertue of these presents as wittnes my hand and seale the Tenth day of Octob.r Anno Caroli Secd unnc Angl Tricesimus 1678 Arthur Sawier Jun.r sealed Sealed and delivered in the presence of John Staycles John Poole On the back side of the aforegoing Letter of attorney was written viz June this sixth day one thousand six hundred seaventy nine they came John Staines and ^John^ W.m Poole before me and made Oath that they saw the within named Arthur Sawyer Signe seale and deliver the within mentioned Letter of Attorney as his Act and Deed Sworne before me the day and yeare above written Philip Calvert This Indenture made the fourth day of March in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred seaventy eight Betweene Henry Fox of the County of Saint Maryes in the Province of Maryland Gent of the one part and Edward Ward of the same County and province planter of the other part Whereas the Second day of March In the yeare of our Lord 1658 One Walter Hall late of the Said County deceased as Guardian to the said Henry Fox caused to bee Sued forth a Certaine writt of partition on the behalf of the said Henry Fox then in partnership and undivided betweene one Luke Barber Esq.r deceased and the said Henry Fox of a Certaine pcell of land lyeing upon Brittons bay in the said County w.ch said Writt of partition was duely Executed and returned thereof made under the hands and seales of the Juro.rs thereunto summoned Impannelled and Sworne as appears in the Records of the Provinciall Court of the said province and Coppy of the division of the same and hereunto annexed the one Moyety or half part thereof to hold to him the said Luke his heires and assignes for ever and the other moyety or half part thereof to hold to him the said Henry Fox his heires and assignes for Ever Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Henry Fox as well for and in Consideracon of the full sum and Just quantity of six thousand five hundred pounds of good sound well condicond Tobacco in Caske to him in hand at and before the Ensealeing and delivery hereof by the said Edward Ward well and truely Contented satisfied and paid as for divers other good and valluable Causes and Consideracons him the said Henry Fox hereunto especially moveing Hath granted bargained Sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth Grant bargaine sell Enfeoffe and Confirme unto the said Edward Ward all that Moyety or half part of the said peice or parcell of Land Sold Laid out & alotted as in by the said partition appeareth Conteyning by estimacon seaventy acres more or lesse Together w.th all houses out houses Woods Underwoods Barnes Stables Orchards Gardens Edifices and buildings whatsoever (Royall Mynes excepted) to the same belonging or in any wise apperteyning Together alsoe w.th all escripts surveyes Minum.ts and Writeings to the same belonging Either alone or together w.th other the Land of the said Henry Fox or true Coppies of the same to bee Coppyed and taken and at the |
