RESOLUTION FOR AN AMENDMENT
TO THE CHARTER
OF THE TOWN OF BETTERTON
"1974 Annexation"
A RESOLUTION of the Commissioners of Betterton,
Maryland, to repeal and readopt a proposed amendment
introduced on October 2, 1973, this resolution being
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11—E of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland, and Section 19 of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957
edition as amended, entitled "Municipal Corporations," to
amend the charter of Betterton, this amendment to be
entitled "1974 Annexation," by adding a new Section 9A
"1974 Annexation," to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Kent County, 1968 edition as amended, the same being new
section 2A "1974 Annexation" of the Charter of Betterton,
1962, the amendment to extend the boundaries of Betterton
and to provide for certain conditions within the area
thus annexed.
SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF
BETTERTON that new Section 9A, "1974 Annexation," of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County, Maryland, 1968
edition as amended, be and it is hereby added to the
Code, to follow immediately after Section 9, the same
being new Section 2A "1974 Annexation" of the Charter of
Betterton, as adopted on October 1, 1962, to follow
immediately after Section 2 thereof, and to read as
follows:
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF BETTERTON ARE HEREBY
EXTENDED TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREA, COMPRISING THE
ENTIRE TRACT KNOWN AS THE HASTINGS FARM, ALL SUCH LAND
BEING CONTIGUOUS AND ADJOINING TO THE EXISTING CORPORATE
AREA, WHICH IS HEREBY ADDED TO SAID CORPORATE AREA, AND
WHICH IS MORE SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
BEING ALL OF "PARCEL NO. 1" DESCRIBED IN A DEED FROM
