AN ACT concerning

Blind and Handicapped Persons — Free Identification

FOR the purpose of providing certain free Motor Vehicle
Administration identification cards to certain blind
and handicapped persons.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 66 1/2 — Vehicle Laws

Section 6—601(c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1970 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 6-601(c) of Article 66 1/2 -
Vehicle Laws, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

6-601.

(c) The fee for the issuance of a special
identification card is $2.00 if the card is issued to any
person under 65 years of age. No fee is required if the
person requesting the card is 65 years of age or older.
A FEE IS NOT REQUIRED IF THE PERSON REQUESTING THE CARD
IS LEGALLY BLIND OR HAS PERMANENTLY LOST THE USE OF A LEG
OR BOTH LEGS OR AN ARM OR BOTH ARMS, OR ANY COMBINATION
THEREOF, OR ANY PERSON WHO IS SO SEVERELY DISABLED AS TO
BE UNABLE TO MOVE WITHOUT THE AID OF CRUTCHES OR A
WHEELCHAIR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
