PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY

(a) Power. [The board of county commissioners of
Prince George's County is hereby given full power and
authority to operate and maintain said hospital, and in
the operation thereof shall be authorized to make such
charges for services furnished as in their judgment are
necessary and proper, subject, however, to the following
limitations and restrictions:

Prince George's General Hospital shall be governed
by a board of directors of nine persons to be appointed
as hereinafter set forth by the board of county
commissioners for said county, said appointments to be
made in the following manner:

The president, or any one member of the board of
county commissioners designated by said board, shall be a
member of said board of directors; one member shall be
appointed by said board upon the certification of the
active medical staff of said hospital; one member shall
be appointed to said board upon the certification of the
Prince George's General Hospital Guild; two members of
said board shall be appointed upon the certification by
the Prince George's County Medical Society, not more than
one to be medical doctor; four members of said board
shall be selected and appointed by the county
commissioners from among the citizens of said county.

The medical doctor certified by the Prince George's
County Medical Society and by the medical staff of said
hospital shall be the only medical doctor of the board.
There shall not be more than two members of said board
from any one election district of the county. The county
commissioners may reject any name so certified to them
and require further certification until a person
satisfactory to them is proposed for appointment. All
members of said board shall be appointed for a term of
Three years, but upon the first appointments made by said
board of county commissioners, three persons shall be
appointed for one year, three persons for two years and
three persons for three years and thereafter annually, as
the terms of said appointees expire, all persons
appointed to said board shall be appointed for a term of
three years. Said appointments shall be made be made on or
before the first day of the month of June, 1953, and
thereafter annually before the first day of said month.
The terms of all members of present board of
directors to said hospitals are hereby declared
terminated upon the appointment of the board herein
provided for. The president or that member of the board
of county commissioners elected from among that board of
county commissioners shall act as the president of said
board. Any member of said board may be removed by the
county commissioners for good cause after a public
hearing, provide the reasons for the removal are given
