EXECUTIVE ORDER OF MARCH 1, 1973
ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to Section 3A, Article 41, Annotated Code
of Maryland, and upon recommendation of the Secretary of
the Department of Economic and Community Development, the
following organizational changes are hereby made within
the Department of Economic and Community Development.

1.    The Housing Division is established as an
organizational unit within the Department, and shall
consist of:

A.    The Division of Home Financing

B.    The following projects and programs previously
within the Community Development Administration:

i. The Maryland Housing Fund

ii. All existing and future programs for
financing and production of housing.

iii. Technical assistance and liaison with
all county and municipal housing authorities, housing
agencies, and the nongovernmental sector concerned with
housing.

iv. Codes administration and enforcement —
Industrial Buildings and Mobile Homes Act, Model
Performance Codes, and future codes authority.

All appropriate personnel, funds, facilities, and powers
are transferred as necessary to effectuate the above
changes. The Housing Division shall be under the
supervision of a Director designated by the Secretary,
Department of Economic and Community Development.

2.    The office of Federal and Field Liaison and
the Western Maryland Regional Development Office,
previously within the Division of Economic Development,
are transferred to Community Development Administration,
together with appropriate personnel, funds, and
facilities.

3.    These organizational changes are effective
March 1, 1973.
